Scrawled on a black invitation in beautiful, gold coloured handwritten calligraphy is the date and time of the party, as well as one of Vena's addresses. Beautiful waterfront property just outside of a nearby city. The time on the invitation is listed as 8PM. Vena's attempt to accommodate any guests who may not be able to face the sun. Vena has a preference for nighttime anyway.
The home, itself, sits on a large piece of land with a well manicured and expansive garden on one side, and the harbour on the other. Inside, the home is very open, with plenty of space for party goers to lounge, and plenty of rooms for them to disappear into. There are only two bedrooms closed to the guests: Vena's own and one that that he keeps for his partner. There are floor to ceiling windows that look out over the large deck (where there's ample seating and a fire pit that will have a fire burning all night) and the harbour.
The decor and furnishings, themselves, are all dark shades (and not all white like in the picture!) of varying colours. Greys, blues, reds, and black, of course, with gold and silver accents and the occasional white showing up in a variety of places to break up the darkness.
There is a vast array of finger foods and an open bar, as well as a chef in the kitchen should anyone desire something a little more substantial to eat. He may even have a few humans set aside who are willing to be fed on, should that be what someone wants. Well, more like they're willing to do anything Vena asks, but to Vena, it's all the same thing.
As for the actual guests, an invite has gone out to anyone who isn't human, from demons to mythical creatures and everything in between. That isn't to say that humans aren't permitted (as more than snacks and servants) because they are, but as a +1. They must have something not human to accompany them, who will then be responsible for them for the evening. Don't let you humans get out of hand and ruin it for everyone else. The dress code is semi-formal and the colours are black and gold, just like the invitation.
Vena, himself, is dressed a little more than usual, with a few pieces of gold jewelry and some simple black around his eyes to fit his chosen colour scheme.
Su-jin
Contrary to the official host, Su-jin's a proper semi-formal tuxedo in black with gold filigree embroidered into the jacket. Black isn't his first choice as he's a man who loves color (oh how he misses the days when men paraded around like peacocks!), but this is Vena's party so he'll honor the incubus' choice of dress code. Throughout the evening, he can be found in various locations indoors and out, checking up on guests, socializing, ensuring the food and drink are available, maybe doting on a certain selkie if he's present.
no subject
Vena sidles up to Su-jin while Su-jin speaks with another guest, glass of barely touched wine in one hand, the other lightly down the sleeve of the tuxedo jacket then tracing the embroidery. If nothing else, at least Vena has the decency to wait until there's a lull in the conversation he stepped into before he speaks. To Su-jin, not the other guest. They may well not even be there for as much attention as Vena gives them.
"You should dress in blacks and golds more often."
no subject
Vena's been generous with Su-jin. Helpful, even. Supportive in subtle ways. For that, Su-jin's grateful. But Vena also allows him to be the caretaker he truly is. He allows Su-jin to pamper him in his way, to deal with their affairs, and, in instances such as this, to ensure Vena's events run smoothly. It all works out rather nicely. A grudging thank to the Council for their incredible foresight (or incredible dumb luck).
When Vena draws into his personal space, Su-jin acknowledges him with a glance and a slight nod. Until the conversation lulls and Vena steps in, changing the topic entirely. "You know I prefer more colorful clothes," he says a fond sort of exasperation.

Along with the thorough explanation, Aqua's clothing also fell to Su-jin's kindness and generosity. Aqua, himself, doesn't exactly have any clothing to speak of (the ones he usually wears have been gifted to him by ocean magic) and no money with which to purchase new clothing. Nor much idea of what money even is. The clothing that Aqua is wearing is more on the 'semi' side of semi-formal. Black loose fitting dress pants and a black asymmetrical dress shirt with gold filigree embroidered along the bottom of the shirt and sleeves, looking not terribly dissimilar to what's on Su-jin's jacket. It all feels really nice. Nothing constricting to make the selkie feel trapped in the fabric.
Aqua spends the beginning of the night back and forth between sticking to Su-jin's side and wandering off to meet new people and try new foods (he keeps getting overwhelmed and running back to his safety net until he feels brave enough to venture off again). Now that it's a little later and a little more comfortable, as well as done with the exploration for the moment, Aqua takes Su-jin's hand and points toward the tall windows, beyond which is the deck and the harbour.
"Can we go out by the water?"

Snake
The invitation was definitely meant for whoever lived in the apartment before him. But, since it has no name on it, Snake isn't turned away despite – very technically – having someone else's invitation.
It's obvious in every important way that Snake is just an average human (is he, though?). He looks and smells like one. He gives off no aura or energy that indicates anything but that. One who's trying very hard not to walk up to every single attendee and ask them what exactly they are.
Loitering near the drinks a good way to strike up conversation. After a time, he can be found outside by the fire pit. There's a tiredness to him later in the evening that does little to dampen his enthusiasm to chat with anyone and everyone who comes near enough, though. The downfall of being a baseline human who still requires regular amounts of sleep.
no subject
It's over near the drinks where Vena makes himself known, coming up next to the human, standing close enough that his bare hip is pressed against Snake's leg. "Welcome to my home." Vena doesn't look up at Snake as he speaks. Instead, he reaches for a glass of wine. One that's different from what he tried earlier, he hopes. "I didn't see you come in with anyone."

before or after snake's been with vena. you can decide~
Eventually his nosiness leads him to someone who doesn't seem to belong in a place where they shouldn't be. He learned quickly that humans have their designated spots, or serving jobs where they're allowed to mingle, but not without a tray in hand (he stopped at least one of the humans to explain how to be a better waiter. 'This is what I would do...') and this one isn't filling either role. River not so subtly leans in to sniff the air around Snake, and then tips his head to the side curiously. "What are you? You smell kinda human..."
Iseul
Upon arrival, Iseul seeks Vena out to present him with a gift. It's something Vena's familiar with from attendance at Iseul's own events: an amulet imbued with Fae glamour that suppresses the natural effect Vena has on others. It allows him to be in crowded settings without causing everyone to fall all over themselves for him. Though, it does lose efficacy as the group gets smaller. But, at least it's something. Knowing Vena's tastes, Iseul fashioned his gift in the form of a simple gold wrist cuff.
For the rest of the evening, Iseul will do some socializing and spend a good deal of time in Vena's garden.
no subject
He's on his way outside to get some air (and because he longer he lingers inside, the more he starts to draw the attention of the help) when he spots Iseul and decides the outdoors can wait for just a little while longer. Everyone inside can have their break from the incubus soon enough. For now, he has a treasured guest to see.
Oh but the gift from the Fae is something that's quite familiar to him indeed. But it was always something that was loaned to him, never given. Something that simply made it easier and more convenient for Vena to attend Iseul's events. He slips the cuff onto his slim wrist to try it for size, then runs his fingers over it and holds his hand out to better inspect it. And to better gauge how it looks with the rest of his jewellery and his clothing.
"It's a beautiful gift."

Hai waits outside for Iseul while he's in speaking with the host. He could take the time to mingle, socialize a little, but the reason he's here isn't the other guests nor is it the incubus who's hosting the party. He's here for Iseul. Hai says a few hellos and exchanges pleasantries to people also enjoying the fresh air and the beautiful garden but he doesn't seek anyone out to speak with. He doesn't really let any one conversation go on for too long either. Sorry everyone, he's usually a little better at socializing, but he's a little preoccupied tonight.
Once Iseul finishes with Vena, he'll find the vampire crouched down to admire some flowers, even though it's closed up for the night. He touches it gently, so as not to harm the plant. A shame he doesn't get to see flowers in bloom anymore, though he supposes they do have a certain charm to them when they're closed.

Zhiyi
This sort of soirée is different, though. This promised to be an evening dominated by those creatures, like themself, who now live in obscurity; the sort who live in secret among humans (or hiding from them). Why would Zhiyi miss the chance to acquaint themself with the local monsters? There are likely some Zhiyi's encountered before, other vampires most likely. There are also likely some they have not.
Their nature prompts them to remain aloof, but that's no way to treat fellow monsters. So they mingle, notably taking neither food nor drink as the evening moves on. They join other groups and conversations with a quiet confidence, a certainty that they belong everywhere they choose to be. It makes their entrance in any conversation seem more natural. As if, of course Zhiyi would have something to add.
no subject
That's why tonight, humans are not the focus but rather an afterthought. They are decorations for his fellow monster to show off, they are snacks for the ones who are feeling a little peckish. They are working the party. For tonight, Vena is making them take their rightful place in the world. Forcing them down while the monsters take the spotlight they so rightfully deserve. Let them come out of the shadows so they can learn they aren't alone in the world.
It's when they're between groups and conversations when Vena runs into Zhiyi. He stops dead in his tracks in front of them (a not terribly subtle way of stopping them as well) and looks them over. "We haven't met."

Bunny
It's easy to slip behind a bush and put on his human mien to explore the goings-on. Good thing he's usually in black so he doesn't stand out too much as he starts to wander among the guests and this very fine house!

If Seren doesn't have an invitation to the party, why is he even here? He noticed a bright spot in the darkness that doesn't seem to be a part of the nearby city and he got curious. The fact that he saw it at all with the impossibly bright city was seemingly so close (now that he's here, however, it doesn't appear to be quite as close as he originally thought) made him wonder about it. It looked like a star that had fallen to the ground and even though Seren knew that wasn't actually the case, he wanted to see it for himself.
Quite frankly, he's a little grateful that he did once he spots the familiar little bunny moving about down in the garden below. The one who becomes the familiar young man. Given his lack of invite, Seren didn't intend to actually attend the party. His plan was to simply hang out on the roof for a little while before returning to the sky, but now... Well, there's enough people here that one dragon without an invite will likely go unnoticed, right? Pulling it off without announcing himself requires returning to human form up on the roof and making his way down to a balcony with an open door. A surprisingly easy feat! Turns out he pretty much had his choice of balconies, given all of the doors -- minus the ones leading to occupied rooms -- are wide open.
Doesn't the host know that's how wildlife gets inside? At least in this particular case, the wildlife is trying to minimize his time inside. He is an outdoor dragon, thank you. Plus, inside under the lights, it's clear that he's not wearing black, but rather the same deep, dark blue of his scales. Again, hopefully there are attendees enough for him to remain mostly unnoticed.
Thankfully, once Seren gets down to the main floor, it doesn't take him terribly long to spot Bunny coming in from the garden. Bunny being the only recognizable face here certainly helps matters. It makes it easy to let all of the other faces fade to the background. Please understand how difficult it is for him to not wave and call out Bunny's name to get his attention. Please appreciate his restraint. Instead he makes his way around other guests, trying to keep from drawing too much attention to himself before appearing in front of his newest friend.

Hai climbs to his feet and tips his head curiously to one side when it's not a rabbit that emerges from the bushes but a young man. He should've noticed that something smelled a little off about the small animal. "Well aren't you an odd looking rabbit."

Kun-woo
Everything is so wondrous! He stares with wide eyes, he hangs on every snippet of conversation either directed at him or within his now more-significant-than-before earshot. Just beneath his skin, he's vibrating at a frequency that could shatter glass. He just wants to meet everyone who's here tonight! They all look so cool and interesting!
no subject
That it's a chance for Yesung to show off his cute new vampire is just a bonus.
While he mingles with those he's familiar with and introduces himself to those he isn't, a portion of his attention is always on Kun-woo. Watching to see where he is and what he's doing, listening to make sure that he's conducting himself properly and that his obvious excitement isn't too much for anyone it's inflicted upon. Many take so long to warm up to their new lives and may never fully embrace it, but Kun-woo seems to welcome it with open arms. Even many who accept their fate never approach it with the cheer levels of excitement that Kun-woo is. Both have their upsides and downs.
Once he feels momentarily satisfied with his socializing, Yesung makes his way through the guests, toward the vibrating little vampire. Stepping up behind him, Yesung lays a hand on Kun-woo's shoulder. "Pace yourself. You have all night."

Especially one in particular.
At first, Jaeseok isn't sure that he wants to go over to talk to Kun-woo or even be noticed by him. He's spent their entire friendship lying to him. Well, a lie by omission and can that really even be considered a lie? Barely. While he tries to figure out what it is he actually wants to do, he simply stands there, staring at Kun-woo, an act which feels like it all but makes the decision for him.
Jaeseok puts on a bright smile and waves to his friend as he approaches. "Kun-woo, hey!"

Sivan
Save for a few gold rings, Sivan is dressed entirely in black. Tailored black suit and a black shirt, black eyeliner and black nails. He likes to think he'd fit in great with a group of high school goths. Maybe that's what he'll be next time? Could be fun! Anyway, Sivan loads up a plate with food before he starts to inflict himself upon others, getting in the middle of conversations like he's been a part of them from the very beginning. He spends some time out in the garden and on the deck overlooking the harbour too, as well as takes a self-guided tour of the house. He never makes it to these sorts of things so he's getting the most out of the night that he can.
no subject
He wouldn't say he's friends with many of the guests. He knows a handful from simply being around. He's friendly enough with most, but he's not really interested in most people if he can't make a plaything of them at some point. Maybe that's just his nature as a demon. He's also dressed primarily in black, the blazer of his suit embroidered with a golden sun on one shoulder and on the opposite hip. He's grabbing some refreshment when he spots a familiar face among the other guests and positively ignites. He quickly grabs a second glass of champagne and scampers over, all eagerness and smiles.
"Well, well, well! The Great and Amazing Sivan graces us with his presence," he declares as he hands the drink to him.

Three
Not that any of that stops Three from already being three bottles deep into the incubus' pricey liquor.
Three has become a familiar face at parties, both human and monster alike. If he hears even a whisper on the air of such a thing, he'll show up, invited or not. If he's going to self-destruct, he's going to have fun doing it, at least. This one, though, he actually received an invitation for. An invitation with a name he no longer associates with because it's a name that doesn't belong to him, alone. It almost became the one party he turned down. Almost.
He showed up to the party wearing a very eye-catching shiny gold tailored suit with a leopard print on both of the jacket and pants. Beneath that is a simple black dress shirt with almost half the buttons undone. One might guess that he's looking for attention and given that quiet, down time gives him a chance to dwell on his solitude, one might just be right. Snatching the bottle out of the bartender's hand instead of allowing him to pour another drink, Three starts to drift from conversation to conversation, group to group, though he'll move on quickly if it doesn't seem like they'll give him what he's looking for. Fun, attention, distractions, a pain and suffering unlike that which he usually feels.
And if he can't find a conversation or group of people he likes, he'll pick a relatively clear spot to dance, and try to get those around him to dance along with him. It's a party!
no subject
Why not go? Why not try to meet people? If it's too much, he can always leave, right?
Dark colors aren't really his thing, but the invitation specified, so Tres shows up all in black, save for the vaguely metallic gold and black patterned shirt. At least it adds a little fun and whimsy to the attire. He spends a lot of the evening walking around the perimeter of the party, not really approaching anyone first. The garden is a nice respite from the sounds of others. Eventually he finds himself at the bar for a drink when what he sees makes it feel like the world fell out from under his feet.
Is that...? Dancing??
The fresh waves of nervous energy has nothing to do with introversion. He moves through the party to get to Three, positioning himself precisely in his line of sight. "Hello again."
Really? He couldn't think of anything better to say??? Please let the ground open up and swallow him right now!

✨ Lucifer ✨ (and also Wolf if you want him)
Nowhere in Vena's invitation did it specify that one had to arrive promptly at the beginning time, so Lucifer didn't. Maybe an hour or so into it, a sudden wave of what can only be described as incredibly oppressive vibes ripples out. It's a sensation that's heavy, dark, like the air pressure suddenly got higher, or gravity stronger. The human's look ill, swooning. The non humans react differently. Some feel it keenly and loathe it. Some revel in it. To some it's little more than some new wavelength drifting through the air.
It lasts only a moment or two before the Prince of Darkness himself reigns it in. As he so often does on this side of the world. He knows the effects his aura can have on the unsuspecting and unprepared. And how on Earth would he ever be able to seduce anyone into so-called evil or temptation if being within a thousand feet of him made them violently ill?
He strolls in wearing something stylish, yet striking. It's reminiscent of military uniforms of yore, almost like something a modern writer would conjure up for a fantasy world prince. Black with brilliant, shimmer gold details and thread work, the cape draped over him like liquid metal under the lights. Even his plus one, Wolf, is dressed in that old timey militaristic style. Said plus one sticks close for all of ten minutes before scampering off to go check out the food and drink options, maybe give some schooling to the bartender.
Lucifer, however, prefers to mingle. He'll gravitate toward hell-spawn first and foremost (his precious children), and then seek out other companionship. Truly a social butterfly, he slips in and out of groups and conversations like water through cracks, seamlessly insinuating himself wherever and with whomever he chooses to be with easy smiles, laughs, and charm.
For Lucifer
Lucifer, please. Won't you think of the hybrids? They're very confused right now.
And then, just like that, the feelings fade. The positive and the negative ones, they're gone like a receding tide. Just like that. The sick feeling in the pit of his stomach lessens, he feels like he can breathe again. He gulps down the drink he's been holding onto then sets the glass down before starting to wander the party. It's not necessarily his intention to seek out Lucifer and yet that's where he ends up. Standing before the Prince of Darkness. "You make a hell of an entrance." Jaeseok doesn't quite meet Lucifer's eye at he speaks to him. He just can't bring himself to do it. It doesn't seem right.

More for Lucifer :3
All throughout the first part of the night, Vena paid no mind to the guests entering his home. He doesn't need to watch every single person who shows up. That would take up his entire night. It's difficult to ignore, however, when one guest's arrival changes the entire atmosphere of his home. He watches the way some of those around him react before finally conceding and turning toward the door, toward the one who's taking attention away from him. Not that he really needs to see who it is to know who it is. He can feel it in the air.
Vena gives it a little time before he seeks out his newest guest (well, the newest one that he actually took note of). He leaves his own companion mid-conversation and makes his way to Lucifer, inserting himself into the middle of the group that he's made himself a part of. He tips his head to one side as he looks over the Dark Prince, reaching out to runs his fingers over the golden cape. "Ancient Rome wasn't part of tonight's theme."
