Su-jin may be the unofficial co-host and bouncer of Vena's events, but Vena treats him as official in both roles and expects everyone else to do the same. At this point he should really just make it official, but most know that to cross one means to cross the other. Though things aren't always so in private, in a public setting like this there are few decisions that Su-jin will make that Vena won't support (and not only because supporting Su-jin without much or any question is less effort for Vena, but that's certainly a part of it). Su-jin knows Vena better than anyone here. He knows how Vena wants his parties run.
Vena sidles up to Su-jin while Su-jin speaks with another guest, glass of barely touched wine in one hand, the other lightly down the sleeve of the tuxedo jacket then tracing the embroidery. If nothing else, at least Vena has the decency to wait until there's a lull in the conversation he stepped into before he speaks. To Su-jin, not the other guest. They may well not even be there for as much attention as Vena gives them.
"You should dress in blacks and golds more often."
