You're getting so literal in your old age.
I'll be there, don't fret. It will give you wrinkles.

Old age? Age has nothing to do with this.

[ old age???? have you ever considered that may be one of the list of reasons why people avoid you, peter? you make them feel old?? ]

I'm hardly worried. As I said, it makes no difference to me.
It could be a missed opportunity for you, however.

I can't have that. It might haunt me for all eternity!

I would truly hate for you to be eternally haunted by what could've been.

Ah, I knew YOU would understand! I'm simply not built for carrying regrets! I can't allow myself the chance to nurture them!

I do indeed. Regrets are far too heavy to be carrying around needlessly.

They are! I'm weak, I shouldn't be doing that kind of heavy lifting.

We can't very well overburden the weak.

You've never given me a reason to be.

I never doubted you're a good and true friend!

(( Lies. They've never been more than passing acquaintances. Definitely never friends. ))

[ definitely never friends. passing acquaintances at best. in fact, the very mention of their make believe friendship gives him pause and he merely stares at the text for entirely too long. does peter actually think more of them than hai does?? ]

Okay.
Then I'd ask that you be on time tonight, since you say you plan to meet with me. I don't appreciate tardiness.

[ if he's such a 'good and true friend' then don't make him wait ]

(( No need to worry. Peter is vastly exaggerating his view of their “relationship” in an effort to get what he wants. ))

I’ll be there. 1am. Don’t you fret.

Good because Hai is only going along with it to hopefully end the conversation more quickly He would hate to think that Peter actually considers them friends and he's just feeding into the delusion.

I won't.
I have things to do outside of this phone so I won't be replying to you anymore. I'll see you later tonight.

Well, he has one more thing to do with his phone. He needs to text Yesung with an address and an invitation to meet up later tonight. Acquaintances catching up, inspired by a brief meeting at the incubus' party. Sorry that it's such short notice, but he wanted to throw out the invite while it's still fresh in his mind, before centuries have passed and they're little more than strangers once more.

The remainder of his night, before he has to leave to go back to his place is dedicated to locking himself away to work on a painting for his Fae. So dedicated that he's almost forgets about the meeting he'd set up for tonight. Peter at 1am, and Yesung a little later. If he has any chance of passing Peter off to Yesung, making sure Yesung doesn't see him as he approaches Hai's place is rather important. Make sure they aren't arriving at the same time.

It feels odd to be back home. Since moving in with Iseul, it feels like he no longer belongs here. There was plenty that he wanted to leave behind when he moved out of here, which helps to make the place look lived in, but it no longer feels lived in. No matter. It'll do for tonight. It serves as a fine meeting place. Relatively neutral ground. A place to keep potential drama away from Iseul's.

Hai is quite safe from being considered an actual friend... for now. He might be in danger if he succeeds in helping Peter with his self-appointed task.

Peter is, of course, punctual. A few cordial minutes early, but no more than five. He doesn't want to impose (as if he hasn't already!). Since he's hoping (expecting) that introduction, he even opted to dress a little nice: dark slacks and a deep wine colored button-up shirt with a crisp collar. At exactly one minute before 1 o'clock, Peter smooths a nonexistent wrinkle from his shirt front, takes a breath he no longer needs, and knocks.

So there's no guarantee that this will rid of Hai of Peter after all. He may not have bothered to try at all if he'd known there was a chance he still wouldn't end up getting what he wanted out of it. That's all this is for, after all. Yes, he does feel a little guilty that he's using Yesung (and by extension, Kun-woo) but not bad enough to not ambush him. He and Yesung aren't close enough for him to want to risk his solitude for him.

Sorry Yesung.

Hai is already approaching the door when Peter knocks so it isn't terribly long that Peter has to wait before the door is pulled open. He does nothing to hide the hint of disappointment in his expression at seeing that Peter really did show up. Though this is all a means to an end (possibly), he still hoped that nothing would come of it. Some just have no luck. "Come in."
