For a creature such as Fraise, it's hard to find a place that feels safe and secure. It's hard to find a place where he truly feels at home. Everything is so big and quite frightening. So many creatures to which he is no more than a mouthful. So many humans walking about with their big, cumbersome steps.
A garden seems like the perfect spot for someone like him. Well maintained with an emphasis on keeping pests out. The sort of pests who would harm a garden as well as a small dragon who looks remarkably similar to a delicious strawberry. The garden's depths are also rarely frequented by anyone aside from the person who tends to it. Little foot traffic. The one glaring problem, however, is the humans. To them, he is nothing more than a pest. And if they were to look closer, they would see that he's something unlike anything they've seen before. At best, they would take him inside and keep him in a terrarium. They'd show him off to friends and family. He'd be nothing more than some human's keepsake. At worst... Frightening.
So that he ended up happening upon a Fae's garden seemed like a stroke of luck. A safe and secure place. A place that Fraise has been calling home. The Fae allows him to remain here, terrarium free, and Fraise eats the bugs that would otherwise do harm to the wide variety of plants. Maybe that's gone and made him a little complacent as he doesn't hide when he takes a nap in the Fae's garden like he normally would, nor does he tuck his tail in close (the strawberry-like shape on the end can attract the wrong kind of attention when he's not careful) to protect it from anyone who might happen by.
