Zhiyi

Zhiyi isn't much for socializing. With humans. They're so short-lived so much about them seems shallow and fleeting. They have as little desire to mingle among humans as humans have for trying to socialize with their cattle. There are, of course, exceptions. Some humans can be interesting. No species is a monolith. Maybe some human will find a particularly interesting cow one day.

This sort of soirée is different, though. This promised to be an evening dominated by those creatures, like themself, who now live in obscurity; the sort who live in secret among humans (or hiding from them). Why would Zhiyi miss the chance to acquaint themself with the local monsters? There are likely some Zhiyi's encountered before, other vampires most likely. There are also likely some they have not.

Their nature prompts them to remain aloof, but that's no way to treat fellow monsters. So they mingle, notably taking neither food nor drink as the evening moves on. They join other groups and conversations with a quiet confidence, a certainty that they belong everywhere they choose to be. It makes their entrance in any conversation seem more natural. As if, of course Zhiyi would have something to add.
