It took a while for Myca to adjust to human food. Some myths and legends say they're divine and need not eat to survive. Others say they devoured those lured by their songs. The truth is neither. They're omnivores who mostly scavenge. Did they lure humans to them for the purpose of eating them? No. Did they eat them after they died? Absolutely.
While Aqua's a fellow marine creature, Myca didn't dare speak to him. He didn't know if his voice could drive Aqua mad while on land. Plus, there are so many humans around. It's a risk he won't take. So, instead, he lifts his chin slightly and taps his fingers to his throat to indicate he can't speak. Then, he pulls his mobile phone from his pocket and types out: My name is Myca. The phone then articulates it.
